Easter

If I were to describe my ideal Easter, it would look a lot like easter in the movie 'Steel Magnolias'.  An elaborate easter egg hunt in a beautiful park on a gorgeous sun-shiny day.  All the little girls running around in beautiful easter dresses, and likewise, the boys in sweet sweater vests.  And of course, a picnic in the park with games to follow and the exceptionally good company of friends and family.  Yep, that about sums it up.  My 'la la land' vision of the perfect easter.  Here in reality (or maybe just the still somewhat chilly prairie land), things go down a little differently.  Deep fried turkey, Joe dress' and rubber boots, street hockey, an easter egg hunt in the basement... are just a few of the necessary minor adjustments from the all-fantastical vision.  One thing not to be compromised, however, was the good company of family and friends.

Matthew 28:2-6 – He is not here; He has risen, just as He said
There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay."
