All May Long

Decided not to subject ourselves to camping this May Long Weekend. And rightfully so-- it snowed.

Did not much of anything exciting really.
Had our niece, Chey, for a sleepover.  That was nice.
Visited four different shopping malls over the course of the weekend.  Also nice.
Visited a couple of friends.
Planted more greenery in the garden.
Watched the movie 'Shorts'.
Made Lemon Poppyseed Scones from scratch.
Cleaned, just a little.
Painted my nails a newly discovered shade going by the name 'Peacock'.
Got excited about Camp Day cups from Timmy Ho's.
Barbequed bacon-wrapped asparagus (you read me right-- bacon wrapped.)
Watched the boys play a little street hockey.
Looked high and low for my tweezers.
Failed to locate my tweezers.
Nailed off a few pages of The Fellowship of the Ring.

And finally,
enjoyed what little sunshine was too be offered today, being Monday :)

Yahooo!  Just as exciting as the christmas cups.  The anticipation of summer.

Ava's Motto: Waste not, want not.

'Peacock' from Joe.
Only four dolla bill ya'll!

Garden.

This is what we have to work with.
It could be worse...
Some people don't even have a garden :(

Greenthumbness: Limited; although improving yearly thanks to my gramma.
Lovely Assistants: Aaron & Ava

Pretending to be flowers.
Sidenote: Ava's new fave choice of footwear- Aaron's old cowboy boots.

...To be transplanted.

You'd think after nearly draining the bank account at the greenhouse we wouldn't run into this problem:
Not enough flowers (hence, the big gaping hole missing flowers)!?

Ugh... back to the greenhouse.  Maybe tomorrow.

Pat on the back for me-- selected my greenery and arranged my own planters!  Two of them :)

Happy 100th Post!

Can it be?!  100 posts already?!

And what better way to celebrate than featuring my hubby's new do!
After a two year long grow sess, mostly inspired by musician Dave Grohl's luscious mane... James decided, it was time.
Bu-bye hippy hair.
And so, The Beauty Parlour was paged and all the necessary arrangements made.

I call this: Dear In the Headlights
(pun intended)

James thought it fitting that at the exact moment of having his hair shampoo'd to be cut... a somewhat melancholy song could be overheard playing from the parlour speakers....

The kids getting their DS on while Daddy gets his hair did.
Those things sure do come in handy.

Aaron's exact comment "Dad!  You look younger!".
Rather handsome, I'd say.

Now about that beard........

Headpieces for sale!!
Kirsten's been hard at work making headpieces with the intention of selling them.  This is just one of the many she's crafted.  Styles vary from elegant bridal to Alice-in-Wonderland inspired.

Baby.Belly.

My attempt to make a long story short.  Basically, my sis-in-law came into town this weekend to get away as a birthday present from her dear hubby.

She is 33 weeks preggers.

Perfect baby belly photo op:)

The time: Monday
Location: Grandpa's farm
Risks: Minimal,
....if you considering climbing a tree in your 3rd trimester minimal.
Camera: Kirsten
Make-up & Hair: Moi!
Outcome: Fantastic!!

Just four of the besties, so far, to share....
More to come!

At last, A Nice Day

I've been itching to get some better pics of Ava in her ballet gear and since yesterday finally brought some well deserved sunshine (opposite last week's blizzard- blech!)... we took advantage!  Ava was feeling particularily photogenic this day, therefor, I managed to get some pretty wicked photos of not only her, but Aaron too!

Ta Da!

Voila-- the finished product of the hair/make-up/photography workshop Kirsten attended and I was lucky enough to model for.  Kirsten's one crazy artistic cat and has a passion for creative flair.

The bright and squirrely 'Before Shot'

(Trying to put on a straight face......... Ugh.)

After the 'Magic'.....

Hey Cupcake!

The Heavenly Cupcake Company has a new fan...... Me.

Highly recommending the Love My "B" Nanny (Banana Cream) and the Hawaiian 5-0 (Pineapple Coconut).  Really wanting to sample the Bubsy (Salted Caramel Brownie).

Never mind the flowers dear... now accepting cupcakes :)
