Rainbow's End

Annnother field trip day!  And this time I wasn't even chosen to attend, but then one of the  moms couldn't make it and so I was called and yaddy-yadda, here we are: Rainbow's End Farm.

It rained.

All day.

Mud-hole is an understatement.

Thank heaven I borrowed grandma's rubber boots.
Best farm EVER!
It was totally hands-on.  You name it, we held it, chased it, fed it, walked it, snuggled it, etc.-- in brand-new baby form, I might add, as apparently many a farm animal is born this time of year.  Spring, ya know!?

On the way home, I was surprised in discovering not only does Aaron want to be a bowling teacher when he grows up (?), but he also now wants a farm.

Second most interesting conversation of the day: Aaron and his pal Jack discussing the purpose of the ' hangy things' (Udders.  Do you still call them that on a goat??) on the goat.

 Alpaca X.

Baby ducks!

Chinchilla!

And goats.

Real Busy-Like

Whatta week!  I figure a photo montage would be the best way to deliver the goods.
First, our darling daughter started ballet this past Tuesday- Yay!!  Ava has anxiously been counting down the days for her classes to start and was jazzed about her first session.  I wondered about being a little over the top with the whole 'outfit', but I was pleased to find the other little ballerinas were equally frilly and pink (sooo adorable!).  The weather was really crappy that day so I wasn't able to get the best photo of her so these will have to do!

Aaron instructing her on achieving the perfect diamond shape... I have to say, the boy was paying attention.  He'll be hanging with me while she has her classes, which I'm very pleased about as Ava has spent countless hours attending hockey-- she's more than done her time!

So cute!

Wednesday, I tagged along with Aaron's kindergarten class on a field trip to the greenhouse (I was hoping to get picked for this one!!).

Goofing-off on the bus ride.

Man, how did he get so cute?

Get ready for it.....  GLORIOUS rows and rows of the most beautiful, luscious hydrangeas I've ever seen!  I took at least two dozen photos of them-- I couldn't contain myself.

Some fancy editing.....

Counting down the days 'til the May long weekend is finally here so I can get my garden on!

Wednesday evening-- Inline Hockey evaluations.  It's a bittersweet thing really.....  Hockey season just ends and inline just starts up.  Still amping myself for a 2-3 evenings a week schedule....

He's gonna have bigger pipes than me at this rate.....  And check out the sweat he worked up?!!

And, last but not least...  A pic of me and my sis from a birthday party we attended on Friday.  I love her bunches and we have alotta fun together :)

And who can deny James and Dustin's affections...... certainly, not me.

Ukrainian Village

This year of Kindergarten, I've been picked to volunteer for two of the more exciting (in my opinion :) field trips; Festival of Trees and yesterday, Ukrainian Village.  Fingers crossed (x) for the greenhouse field trip...  Aaron's part of a really fun class of kids and his teacher is always enjoyable to hang out with.  There are a lot of laughs to be had when you're hanging out with twenty five-year-olds.  Not to mention, the last time I had been to the Ukrainian Village I was Aaron's age exactly!  On a kindergarten field trip.  The focus of the trip; help the pioneers prepare for Easter.  Our tasks were making Paska and decorating eggs.  Both held special meaning in representing the death and resurrection of Jesus, so not only were we having a good time but also learning about the symbolism of the eggs, bread and easter baskets.  Pretty refreshing with the Easter holiday fast approaching.
We had a great time together.  As always, I consider myself blessed to share in these moments with my fave lil' guy.

Kindergarten Father & Child Night

Floor hockey, scooter boards, parachute games, ice cream sundaes and face painting.  What more could a father and his son ask for?!

Finally- School Pics

I finally just received back Aaron's school photos.  Two of the photos (the bottom two) are from Preschool that I had not ordered up until now...  Better late than never, I say!  And, of course, the top one is his Kindergarten photo.  If you ask me, these puppies cost a small fortunate ($60 for 3-  8by10 sheets!?!), but are so worth it.

SCA Pride!

Aaron had his first field trip the other day with his kinder-garten class. They re-commend having your child wear their SCA Eagles t-shirt as to keep better track of the kids while out on excursions. I just had to share a pic of Aaron in his 'cause he just looks so dang cute! (And grown-up, sniff....)

First Day at Kindergarten!

What a morning!  Ava and I just got back from dropping Aaron off at his first day of school.  I must say, he is quite a trooper.  He would have been just fine with me dropping him off but I insisted on getting him into the school, waiting with him for the bell, and yes-- peeking through the window, even after he had entered the classroom, to make sure he was okay.  I put on a brave front and shed not a single tear; just smothered him with hugs, kisses, a dozen 'Are you okay's?' (he was probably wondering the same about me, lol) and a million-'n'-one pictures.

And the Leaves are Starting to Turn...

In no time at all, September is now around the corner. Like always, summer has flown by at lightening speed. I've already started the back-to-school (or rather, just 'school') clothing hunt, made plans with Kirsten for Aaron's coif, and got a hop on my Kindergarten phone coordinator duties. Yes, that's right-- I have an active role in the Local Advisory Council (LAC) committee this year as Class A's (Aaron's class) Phone Coordinator-- Da da daaah!! My responsibilities include: attending monthly meetings, scheduling parent volunteers for every day of the school year and notifying parents of special events, snack duties, changes in schedule, etc. Basically, I will keep every parent informed of what is going on schedule-wise. I have always desired an active role in my children's educations ever since I unexpectedly sprung parenthood on myself. I want to be the mom who volunteers, has good relationships with the other parents and is well-known and well-liked by the students and teachers. Not only that, but the benefits of having a position like mine will help me to meet new people and hopefully, make some new friends. You can never have too many friends, right!?

In the meantime, according to the weatherman, we still have quite a few nice days ahead of us in the next week or so... Maybe after a couple more trips out to the lake and a few more dips in the pool, we can fully and gratefully, welcome Fall!
